Holy Cross School - Archdiosce of Washington, DC

The 50 year old parish hall structure for this Catholic K-8 school was damaged due to heavy snow loads over the years and had become unsafe. KANE was selected from a number of competing contractors by the Archdiosce of Washington to dismantle all but the two end walls of the building and start from scratch. The roof was raised to accommodate installation of retractable basketball hoops and a new poured sports floor was installed. The cafeteria and kitchen components were completely redone to current code and a new addressable fire suppression system was installed for safe measures. The solid masonry wall structure was matched to the existing buildings and accented with Arristone inserts and impact resistant windows. New sidewalks and drainage were added to prevent a recurrence of foundation problems and moisture intrusion.
