Dennis O. Kane

Founder | President | Chief Executive Officer

The Kane family has maintained a prominent leadership role in the Baltimore-Washington business community for over 90 years spanning three generations.  As such, Dennis Kane was initially content with continuing that legacy in his father’s thriving transportation business fresh out of college.  But, the young Mr. Kane soon realized that he desired something else from his career and thought he could accomplish more as an entrepreneur to actually grow the family brand in other areas.

His approach would be to get into a field where his creative efforts and drive could leverage and broaden the services offered under the family brand while carving his own niche in the process.  An entry-level position in the estimating department of a local general contractor led to a position at a competing firm as a project manager.  Within three years he was named a vice president of the established 125-employee firm.  In positions of increasing responsibility, for the next seven years he worked to develop a plan to create a firm based on the basic principles of leadership, experience and integrity that he learned from his upbringing as one of nine children in a strict business oriented family.  In 1997, he founded E.I. Kane Construction, Inc.  – which he named in honor of his father.

While the firm has grown substantially in size and capabilities from the early days, Mr. Kane remains actively involved in all areas of the business setting the overall vision and ensuring that the three founding principles are maintained.  He represents the firm at various industry and association events while keeping actively involved in a number of charitable, social and youth athletic organizations.  He resides in Potomac, MD with his wife and three young sons.

Clark H. de Franceaux

Vice President | Operations

With 25 years of industry experience, Mr. de Franceaux has overseen the successful delivery of some of the most complex and challenging projects in our industry. A seasoned and detail oriented leader, clients trust Mr. de Franceaux to bring an aura of excellence to every project in an executive level capacity. His projects total in the millions of square feet completed with multiple awards for technical challenges and craftsmanship.

As the firm’s head of project operations, Mr. de Franceaux maintains direct responsibility for the project management and field staff in the professional delivery of the contract requirements. Mr. de Franceaux earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and is an avid tennis player and competitive skier.

A self-taught woodworking enthusiast, Mr. de Franceaux resides in Kensington, MD with his wife, daughter, and son.

Mari L. Marciano

Director | Best Practices

A 20-year veteran of the Baltimore construction industry, Ms. Marciano assists in the development and implementation of the firm’s approach to project procurement, job cost set up, change management and documentation. In her corporate role as the director of best practices for project management, Ms. Marciano synchronizes our risk management and procurement practices in conjunction with the firm’s high standards for quality control and financial reporting from preconstruction through punchlist. Additionally, she holds the position of Senior Project Manager serving as the client’s daily contact for specific project related matters .

Ms. Marciano earned a degree in Business Management from the College of Notre Dame of Baltimore and a Supervisory Studies Certificate in Labor Relations from Cornell University. A native of upstate New York and fan of the Baltimore Ravens, Ms. Marciano resides in Westminster, MD.

Raymond G. Catalucci

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Catalucci possesses a diverse and experienced background in the financial management of growing service businesses in the field of hazardous waste, janitorial, technology and construction. His day-to-day responsibilities include the oversight of the accounting and administrative staff in the performance of the backroom functions of the firm including payroll, AR, AP and insurance related matters.

An avid fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers, Mr. Catalucci graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Business Administration. He resides in Bristow, VA with his wife and daughter.

Barry J. Plunkett

Executive Vice President | Preconstruction

Mr. Plunkett has 30 years experience in the Baltimore-Washington area construction industry. He holds full charge responsibility in representing KANE and the commitments made to our clients, subcontractors and vendors. Mr. Plunkett is actively involved in the preparation and review of all proposals generated by the firm through the estimating department. Additionally, he is the firm’s point man in the provision of preconstruction services, which includes the development of detailed project budgets and schedules, subcontractor selection, procurement and contract negotiations.

Mr. Plunkett graduated from the University of Maryland. A resident of Westminster, MD, Mr. Plunkett is a die-hard fan of the Washington Redskins and NASCAR.
